One of the UK’s top mountain biking locations ‘Coed-Y-Brenin’ will be supplied with wood chip from Woodfuel-Gwynedd from 19th March 2014. The Visitor Centre, Cafe, Bike Shop and more reside in a new £1.6 million pound award winning complex heated from a single 75kw wood chip boiler. The innovative design and architecture puts the environment first in all aspects including materials used e.g. newspaper for insulation and an all timber construction, the water supply comes from it’s own borehole drilled using biodegradable drilling oils and waste water is also cleaned to avoid polluting the Afon Eden River.

The 75kw wood chip boiler provides running hot water for the Cafe and showers (which you need after riding a mountain bike!) with underfloor heating to keep the building comfortable all year round, the wood chip will be supplied by ourselves (Woodfuel-Gwynedd) using locally sourced wood and will be dried to below 20% for maximum efficiency.
