Whilst our kiln is heated from sustainably sourced wood chip, the fans run on electric from the grid. For 2022, it’s estimated on average each kWh from the grid was responsible for 0.193 kg of CO2e emissions. This year, we’re reducing our annual total by 1600kg by installing 10kw of solar PV. This feeds directly into the electric supply for the kiln offsetting our CO2e and reducing running costs in the long term keeping our prices competitive and emissions low.
